Kay Bojesen

Kay Bojesen (1886-1958) is one of the pioneers of Danish decorative art. He was one of the first decorative artisans who broke with the exclusive style of Nowveau Art to create beautiful and pratical articles for everyday use that was switable for the new time's industrial methods of production.

Through several works in silver, stainless steel and wood, at exhibitions here and abroad, he led the way for art of everyday use of today.

Kay Bojesen's ideas were early appriciated also abroad, and so his works are represented at many museums all over the world.

Besides articles for everyday use in silver, stainless steel, and wood, his exuberant imagination and humorous sense were reflected in original toy that are abjects of art in itself to the delight of both children and grown ups.

Time has shower that Kay Bojesen's models are timeless.

Kay Bojesen was a silversmith, but because of his wooden toy he was known as one of the gratest pioneers af Danish applied art.

His Grand Prix cutlery got its name when it won the first prise at Triennalen in Milan 1951.
